Few Important Words About King Bed
This one is going to be for those of you that interfered in the architect’s job and managed to get as much space as possible for your bedroom. I congratulate you. For me, small spaces are very claustrophobic, and a small bedroom is just the worst case scenario; all you can put in it, is the bed, a dresser and a few other elements and do nothing else but sleep. Since I like to have my morning coffee sited in a chair by the bed watching my partner sleep, having a small bedroom was my worst nightmare.
And don’t let me get started on those wild nights when we go out and party all night. I don’t know about you, but after one of those nights, all I want is a large, white, cozy bed in my spacious bedroom. So, imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon a ‘can’t miss it’ king bed sale online this morning.
Why a king bed you ask?
1. A king size bed is definitely not made for a small bedroom. It simply makes no sense to suffocate your otherwise small space and have no room to function. But if your bedroom is large, than it is simply irrational not to have a king size bed. That is exactly why I got so happy when I saw the king bed sale; make no mistake, these are not exactly the cheapest beds out there. And since my bedroom has more than enough space, this was the perfect opportunity to finally get my king.
2. There are two king bed sizes: a standard king and a California king. The standard king size bed is 198×203 cm, and the California one (known also as a Western King) is a little bigger, 182x213cm. It is also slightly more expensive, so if you chance upon a king bed sale, do not hesitate, you are not getting another chance like this.
3. It is also very important to mention the supporting system for the bed. The kind size bed is very large, so the risk of sagging in the middle is always present. To prevent this from happening, look for adequate support, which means sturdy cross support beams that extend across the center of the entire construction. And make sure these beams are made of either strong wood or metal, so you ensure durability.
4. No worries, you can get everything you need for your king size bed; from mattresses and sheets to bedding! There are different kinds of mattresses available such as innerspring, latex and memory foam. Also, you can get any type of sheets that fit your overall room design and style best. You can choose from flannel, satin, cotton and the famous Jersey King sheets, which are perfect for chilly and cold days.
So, are you willing to do a few alterations in your bedroom? Make it more intimate, more comfortable and luxurious? Invest in a good king size bed and you will not regret it at all. And do not listen to people saying that a large bed hurts the love life by making partners sleep on separate sides; it is not true at all. It can only have the opposite, positive effect. At least it did for us.
