Apply sunscreen on your face, hands and legs at least 20 to 30 minutes before you go out, and continue applying sunscreen on ever 3 hours.
Stay out of the sun between 10am and 3pm
During the summer season, the hottest period of the day is between 10 am and 3 pm. Therefore, it is recommended for you to stay out of the sun at that period. The longer you stay outside, the longer your skin is exposed to the harmful UV rays.

Nowadays, there are many clothing pieces that have a UV protection, and some even come with UV-absorbing colourless dye. These clothing pieces act as protectors against the harmful sun rays. During the days when it is extremely hot, try to cover the vital parts of your body and as much skin as possible. Choose lightweight clothing with light colours in order to keep the heat intensity down. Also wear hat and sunglasses to protect your head and eyes from the sun rays.
Ditch your addiction to tanning
Do you know that sunbathing or using a solarium increases the chances for various skin diseases? Studies have shown that solarium treatments can increase the chances of getting skin cancer. In addition, it can make you look older by dehydrating and wrinkling your skin. Therefore, be extremely careful and avoid using tanning products. These products contain many harsh chemicals which are not good for your skin and also for your overall health.
Keep you skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water
During the hot summer days, your skin can easily become dehydrated. So, make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day during the summer months. Dehydration can lead to dry skin, frown-lines, spots, and a lack of ‘glow’. By drinking plenty of water, you will not only keep your skin hydrated, but will also eliminate all toxins that can affect the appearance of your skin.
